Building Your Network.
You never know where or when you will get an idea or what will inspire you to network. So it follows that it is very important to know what works for other businesses. There are also many individuals who work more than one job or opportunity, especially in direct sales. The more you are familiar about the workings of other industries the better you will be able to do your own business. If you are an account executive who does payroll sales, it would help you to know if you meet a Business Owner doing his or her own cold calling but complains of little time to run the business. Perhaps you can introduce them to one of your strategic partners for staffing and once they hire someone, the Business Owner will have its first employee and could become your new client for payroll. Again, planning your work and sticking to a routine is crucial with sales, no matter which type of business you are in, you have to keep your pipeline full. As you continue to meet people and make new contacts, you will be able to better assist your clients, vendors and employees. You never know who is looking for what. Building a network of clients takes time, effort and maintenance not to mention enthusiasm.
