	Melissa Markis is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in fashion and commercial photography. Upon graduation, Melissa began traveling throughout North America, India, Australia, New Zealand and Europe as photojournalist for the SYDA Foundation.
She then settled in New York, NY where she had a successful career as a wedding photographer and a makeup artist for ten years. Her work can be seen in many magazines, books and CD covers.Melissa now resides in the mountains of North Carolina where she continues her passion of capturing spontaneity and beauty through her camera’s lens.
